ASSET LIFECYCLE PLANS

Developing life cycle plans, cost models and budgets

Asset Lifecycle Plans (or Asset Management Plans) is an essential driver of the maintenance and sustaining capital budgets, ensuring targeted asset reliability and maintenance cost performance is achieved.

We have learnt that the plans need to be developed for each major processing area (for example crushing, grinding, concentrating, roasting, smelting, or leaching) or mobile fleet type (for example hauling fleet). The focus should be on processing areas and/or mobile fleets that are critical to production or constrain production, pose high or material risk to the business, or are very costly to operate and maintain.

The plans describe in detail the activities to be carried out on assets and how to coordinate the activities in order to deliver the Asset Management Strategy and Objectives in line with the Asset Management Framework.
